This advice is especially important to keep in mind right now, as COVID-19 has caused isolation; as students, teachers, parents and faculty members get ready for the start of school and as employees return to the workplace, they can all do so in a spirited, exciting and connected way!

Dress-Up Days Or Themed Events

Many schools hold dress-up days on Fridays or during homecoming, as a way to get everyone involved. This allows participants to show off their unique style and celebrate their team in a unique way.

Additionally, there are themed events, such as tailgates or parties, which can feature decor, food and prizes, all with a common design and trend.

Decorations

Speaking of decorations… These can also put support for a sport or institute on display! Make posters to hang in the hallway. Customize players’ and cheerleaders’ lockers. Have signs that fans can hold up at games. This is a common, popular and successful route.

Rewards & Incentives

Positive reinforcement is always a good idea, and it can be applied to team spirit; when a student attends every class, when an athlete is cheering along at a pep rally, when a team wins, when an employee gets involved… All of this and more can earn people rewards and cow bell with team logoincentives.

Pro Tip: Consider giving away useful and thoughtful items like stadium cups or backpacks

Swag

These prizes and gifts don’t have to be utilized as rewards only, as swag is another idea. It can be thrown to crowds during assemblies, handed out as guests enter stadiums, sold by the booster club or given away online.

Cohesive Reminders

With these examples and beyond, cohesion should be kept in mind. There is a school name, a mascot and a song of pride, and there are school colors. That being said, all of that should be applied to themed days, decor, promo items, as well as campaigns that are used to further team spirit, such as booster sales, run-through signs and advertising.

We wish you luck with spreading spirit and pride this year, and we hope everyone stays safe and well!
